Samsung ICS 4.0 for Galaxy S i9000

Android ICS 4.0 for Galaxy S (Custom ROM) Download the custom ROM ICS 4.0 from here
http://www.filefat.com/wrwo9s56g3jx
http://www.multiupload.com/KX50EVTCHB
.
(Important! It’s the first port of ICS and it’s still very much in heavy development. So, expect this custom ROM to be updated more than frequently in the coming days, until it gets as good as you hope it to be. So, always check and download the latest version available at the aforementioned link. Rest of the process is same)
Transfer it to your phone’s sdcard.
You need to have ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery installed on your phone. If you don’t have it already do this:
Install XXJVS firmware first.
Root and install CWM recovery on XXJVS.
Power Off your Galaxy S. Wait for 5-6 seconds until you feel the vibration to confirm complete switch off.
Then, press and hold these 3 buttons together: VolumeUP+Home+Power till the Galaxy S logo shows up on screen. You’ll soon see the CWM recovery.
In recovery, use Volume keys to scroll up and down and power key to select an option. Use back key to go back.
Now, select “install zip from sd card”. Then, select “choose zip from sd card”. Now, browse through sd card and select the file ICS Custom ROM you downloaded in step 1 and transferred in step 2 above. Select “Yes – Install ___” on the next screen.
This will flash the required files on your phone and will reboot your phone into recovery again. This is a slightly different recovery now.
Do Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Do Wipe Cache Partition
Now, you need to flash the ICS Custom ROM file again. So, select “install zip from sd card”, select “choose zip from sd card”, browse and select the same file again and choose “Yes – Install ___” again.
This time, the ICS Custom ROM will be flashed actually and after it’s installed, your phone will reboot with ICS lock screen visible upon boot. (if the phone gets stuck while booting up, showing fugumod thing at the bottom, then remove the battery and insert it back, go to recovery mode and repeat from step 9 again. This worked for me. Twice!)
—————————————————————————————————
icecream2 Samsung ICS 4.0 for Galaxy S i9000
Please note the version posted will be a proof of concept version, and IS NOT for daily usage nor for people unknown to flashing etc.
It is being posted for development purposes only, however Lttldvl and I wish for this to be an open community, and which for other developers to help fix the issues that are still present.
The rom DOES NOT currently get passed the lockscreen, as touch sensors and screen resolution need fixed.
Edit: using 2 fingers or back key and menu key will get you past lockscreen.
This is a product of open source, let’s see what WE CAN ALL DO with it..!

Solution: How to fix Deodexed System/Browser Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 and Galaxy S I9000

Thanks to a genius guy brightidea from XDA-developer who found the fix for the laggy browser bug for Samsung Galaxy S II  after deodexing, the Browser wont work correct. If you want to scroll or zoom in browser it lags and dont shows the right content.

This solution is guaranteed to work as long as the order of class fields mLeft and mTop are the same in android/view/SurfaceView.smali as android/webkit/WebViewCore$ShowRectData.smali.

"I found the bug for real this time - unfortunately, it's in smali.jar. and you were right. The fault occurs when it attempts to build framework.jar from smali files
specifically this file "android/view/SurfaceView.smali

But I have a work-around (guranteed to work as long as the order of class fields mLeft and mTop are the same in android/view/SurfaceView.smali as android/webkit/WebViewCore$ShowRectData.smali)"

Brightidea spend a lot of time and effort in order to reach this solution and according to him that his eyes burn like hell and my wife won't talk to him anymore while reaching this solution.

You may visit his XDA thread to give him a full compliments for this very useful solution.

MilkyS MOD with Kernel Based on Android 2.3.4 XXJVR (Odexed) Samsung Galaxy S Custom ROM

Here's another Custom ROM built for Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and develop by flypubec at XDA-developer. According from the creator of this ROM that say: "This ROM is meant to be the cream of the top among all ROMs/MODs based on official Samsung ROMs. It’s been built and polished by collecting all the magic from XDA and carefully selecting ones that really make the difference + added some of my own and here we go."

Features

· Based on latest official XXJVR Firmware (All modifications done on original JVR files)
· Odexed (yes this is a feature, deodex sux nowadays)
· Zip-Aligned (meh, as every stock from Samsung)
· Original, untouched, super blazing fast stock JVR browser and all other apps
Note: browser performance is not affected by my modifications, because oposite to all other mods and themes out there, I did not use any baksmali decompiling. The problem with baksmali is that it’s broken for optimized dexes (like JVQ/JVR browser), which causes performance slow down, memory leaks and other errors.
· Keeps your original product code (other Odin packages changes it to KOR)
· Rooted
· Superuser app preinstalled
· Latest Busybox 1.19 preinstalled and symlinked
· CWM 2 & 3 Compatible
· init.d Support
· EXT4 LagFix Support (manageable through voodoo control app or CWM)
· AOSP lockscreen (like in Nexus S)
· CRT Off Animation (Enable by enabling animations in display settings)
· Working and fine tuned Auto Brightness
· Extended Power Menu - Reboot, Recovery & Download
· 3D shaded fancy Connectivity Icons
· Cool status bar with data traffic coloring and circle percentage battery icon
· Custom boot animation support
· Huge Apns List (automatically sets your APN settings)
· SIP Calling that works with 3G (stock works only with wifi)
· Voodoo Sound v10 – for better sound and radio quality (manage through preinstalled voodoo control app)
· Voodoo color - for better sharpness and color (further customizable through preinstalled Voodoo control app)
· Preinstalled RealCalc (Samsung calc really sux)
· Swype with more languages (UK English, US English, Bulgarian, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Korean, Norwegian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovenian, Swedish) - Original JVR Swype can be restored with the CWM patch (see below)
· MilkyS.Core kernel (based on latest Talon-dev sources patched with latest JVR sources recently published by Samsung and with some extra fine tuning and performance boost (compiled with newer toolchains 2011.q1)

Kernel features:

* Based on latest Samsung Opensource Gingerbread JVR Sources
* Voodoo Lagfix and Sound v10
* Voodoo Color for 2.3.4
* Ported Nexus S Framebuffer
* mDNIe based on Speedmod
* BLN Support from Neldar

* Tweaked Ondemand Governor
* Stochastic Fair Blue (SFB) network scheduler
* Updated to latest Samsung Source
* Lots of Upstream Linux/AOSP fixes
